Formatting: Letters
We receive many requests for information on formatting letters. The actual format is less important than the content; however, the format can remind you what is necessary in a letter. Of course, if you are using a school or company letterhead, that will replace your personal address.
Here are three sample formats for letters. The first two are equally acceptable for business or official letters and the third is for a personal letter. In any of them, the sender’s address and the date can be on the top right or top left.
