Formatting: Dates

Dates can be written in varying formats depending on the variety of English used.

 Any of these is acceptable:

16th March, 2017 16/3/2017 Australian or British English
16 March, 2017 16/3/2017 Australian or British English
March 16th, 2017 3/16/2017 American English
March 16, 2017 3/16/2017 American English
Monday, 10th April, 2017
Monday, 10 April, 2017

Note that we say, for example,” the 16th of March” but we don’t usually write “the” or “of”

March 16, 2017 is potentially confusing especially if the comma is omitted.

My personal preference is for the second, however any of the formats above are correct.
